Aloha everyone!!! Well, I'm not in Hawaii.... but i am in Trinidad and Tobago!! More specifically, I am in Tobago, the smaller half of Trinidad and Tobago. I arrived here three days ago on June 6th around 8:00 pm. My flight with Liat airlines departed St. John's, Antigua at 5:25pm and after flying for 2 hours and 35 mins and taking one stop, I arrived at Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago around 8:00 pm. The flight was quick and easy and took me the 665 km from St. John's to Port of Spain for $629. I was so glad when i landed here in Port of Spain, because i was already on my second stop! Exciting stuff! So, i am currently staying at the beautiful Magdalena Grand Resort and i am thoroughly enjoying it (to say the least). The resort it located in the lowlands of Tobago. I am staying in a oceanfront room and it costs $199.50 per night, a bit pricey but it is waaaaay worth it! Below are a few pics i took of the resort:
Soooooooo as you can tell, i only stay at the finest resorts......
Anyway, today is June 9th. I've already spent three days in Tobago! In three days i'll be on a plane to Georgetown, Guyana! But I don't want to think about that yet, i want to take in as much of Trinidad and Tobago as possible in my short time here. Tobago is very eco-tourist friendly, if that makes sense... In the past three days I've spent all my time outdoors! On my second day here I hiked the Rainforest Reserve and, although tiring, it was very beautiful and the wildlife was vibrant and lively! they have some very unique animals there (especially birds) that I have never seen anywhere else! The hike was wonderful and i enjoyed it very much! After the long hike, i visited Salsa Kitchen Tapas restaurant where I had Tapas for the first time ever. Tapas are like appetizers and at a Tapas restaurant you are served a wide variety of appetizers, it was a great experience. Here are some pics from that day:
Okay sorry, I just have so many pictures and I want to share them all!!
Yesterday (June 8th) I went on a diving excursion with my resort! It was soooo much fun! I went drift diving with the manta rays and sharks and I even got to touch a shark!! It was pretty scary but super fun and exciting! Unfortunately, they told us we were not allowed to bring our cameras out on the excursion so i don't have any pictures from it, but I don't think I will ever forget it!
So, now we are caught up to today, and today is just one of those "Lounge-On-The-Beach-All-Day-And-Tan" type of days.... I'm not sure what I will do in my last few days, although I've heard that the mountain biking is really awesome so i think i might try that! So far i have loooooved Tobago. The resort, the people, the food, the beach, the rainforest and of course their ACCENTS!! I am absolutely in love with the accents of the locals!! But, anyway im just rambling now, I shall catch up with you guys at my next stop......... GUYANA!!!! Bye everyone!!
